OG Kush yield, up front

Indoors, plan on roughly 350 to 450 grams per square meter, which works out to about 1.5 to 2 ounces per plant in a small tent. Outdoors, a rooted clone planted after the last frost can finish around 400 to 500 grams per plant in full sun. Those are honest numbers for a grower with a couple of runs behind them. The plant yields less than the seed catalog photos suggest, and more than a poorly trained one ever will.

Flowering runs 8 to 9 weeks indoors. Height stays manageable, usually under 1.2 meters with a normal veg, but the stretch after flip is real. Expect the plant to roughly double. Plan your light distance and screen height before you flip, not after.

What OG Kush actually wants

This is a hybrid that leans indica in structure and sativa in smell. Dense, tight flower sites with very little leaf between them. I look for three things when I set up a run.

  • Airflow over the canopy. Rock-hard buds trap moisture. One oscillating fan below the canopy and one above is not overkill.
  • Moderate feeding. OG is not a heavy feeder. Push the nitrogen and you get dark waxy leaves and a slower finish. Run a touch under the label rate and watch the tips.
  • Calcium and magnesium. Under LED, most OG lines want extra cal-mag by week three of flower. Tap water with decent mineral content covers most of it.

Odor control is the other thing. This plant smells like fuel and pine from mid-veg onward, and it gets stronger, not gentler. Carbon filter sized to your exhaust, not to your tent.

OG Kush Price Per Ounce: What Convenience Costs You

Where the yield goes missing

Most disappointing OG Kush harvests come from three places. Flipping too early with no training, so you get one cola and a lot of empty tent. Letting the canopy get uneven, so the top buds finish while the lowers stay pale and loose. And harvesting on the calendar instead of on the plant.

Check trichomes on calyxes, not on sugar leaves. Cloudy with a few amber is the usual target. The strain keeps bulking in the last ten days, so cutting at week seven because the breeder said eight costs you weight you cannot get back.

The convenience angle

Here is the part that gets overlooked. OG Kush is easy to trim. High calyx-to-leaf ratio means less scissor work and less chlorophyll smell in the drying room. For a home grower with an afternoon to spare, that matters as much as the final number. It also dries and cures without much fuss if you keep the room near 60 percent humidity and 18 to 20 C.

Yield per square meter still decides whether a run was worth the electricity. Convenience decides whether you want to run it again.
