Answer first
A responsible-use infographic fits on one screen and answers four questions: how much, how, when, and what not to mix. Build it around numbers, not slogans. A reader should reach the dose line, the onset window, and the driving rule in under 60 seconds.
Put the dose line first
In the US, 10 mg THC is the reference serving for edibles. Most adult-use states cap a single serving at 10 mg and a package at 100 mg. Colorado sets those same limits. Show the number as a figure: "10 mg = 1 serving." Add a second line for new users: "2.5 mg to 5 mg is a common starting point."
Show onset and duration as a timeline
Inhaled THC reaches peak effect in about 10 to 15 minutes. Edible THC peaks at 30 to 120 minutes and can last 6 hours or more. The timeline panel is where a reader learns to wait. State one rule: wait 2 hours before a second edible dose. The National Institute on Drug Abuse lists delayed edible onset as a main cause of overconsumption.
cannabis responsible use vs abuse
Name the combinations to avoid
Two lines cover it. Alcohol plus cannabis raises impairment above either substance alone. Cannabis plus driving is impaired driving in every adult-use state. The CDC lists both. Keep the driving rule to one sentence with no qualifiers. State blood-THC limits differ, and no federal limit exists.

Layout rules that keep it readable
- Six panels maximum. Each panel carries one number.
- Put the unit next to the number, at the same size.
- Body text at 16 px or larger. Caption text at 14 px or larger.
- Contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for text on background.
- Place the legal age line at the bottom. It is a compliance note, not the message.
What to leave out
Skip strain names, potency claims, and product photos. Skip health claims. The FDA has not approved cannabis for treating any condition and sets no standard dose. State labels carry the required warnings. The infographic does not need to repeat all of them.
Check before publishing
Dose caps, purchase age, and possession limits come from state law and change. Confirm each number against the state regulator's current page. Date the graphic. A figure without a date is a liability.
